2010 AAFS Conference

I had the opportunity to attend the annual conference for the American Academy of Forensic Science. The conference was held at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. This conference is very extensive. There were over 800 presentations and attendees from all around the world.

The scientific sessions included Criminalistics, General Forensic Issues, Jurisprudence, Pathology/Biology, Questioned Document, and Toxicology. The theme of this years conference was ‘Putting Our Forensic House In Order: The Best Path Forward’. The is in response to a report issued by the National Academy of Sciences in March 2009. The report outlined the current state of, and issues concerning forensic science in the United States.

At the top of this web site you will see page tags. Under each tag I will post a synopsis of the sessions I attended. Naturally I could not attend all of the sessions. I was able to collect additional information on new and emerging technologies that may be of interest to you. These will be included under the page tags. In the text I will link to external web sites that will have more information.
